So, this is my review of GoDaddy after a few months of use.
I currently run and own a considerably large forum with around 8,000 members (and growing everyday) with a large amount of posts and topics. I have been through multiple hosts with this forum, from Hosting Zoom to the little mom and pop hosts you find. All in all, I have had the best service and support from GoDaddy. The forum usually has 20-30 users online 24/7, and has had its fair share of DOS attacks. I am amazed that I am still online, with the amount of CPU resources the forums use, and how many hits we receive a month. Over the course of my time with GoDaddy, I have had one bad incident that blew me off the wall. One day I tried to go see how the forums were doing, and I got a 404 error. It seemed as if the files had just disappeared. I contacted them immediately over the phone, and was given a lame answer, that there was nothing they could do about it, that they could not leak the server logs and tell us who “hacked” us. That it would take a lawsuit to get them, and it would cost $150 to get a backup of my website and MySQL databases. So I, not meaning to stir any trouble contacted a lawyer and had them talk with the Law department at GoDaddy. A hour and a half later my site was back online and my MySQL databases were restored by the Advanced Hosting Team. Then I received a call from GoDaddy, and thus I had the info I needed to file a complaint against the accused “hacker” with there ISP.
Seeing that I have came 2 gigs from reaching my 1TB bandwidth limit, I have realized that it is time to upgrade to a Dedicated Server, and I will be purchasing it through GoDaddy with 100% of confidence that it will be worth every penny. I recommend GoDaddy to anyone and everyone, be it from shared hosting to Dedicated Servers, they cant be beat in my book.
