The Once-Off Internet 60GB Promo + 60GB Midnight Surfer Bundle is a prepaid internet bundle that allows you to use 60GB to browse the internet during the day (between 5 a.m. and 12 a.m.) with an additional free 60GB for use at night between 12 a.m. and 5 a.m.

The data bundle cost R1800, once-off.

How long is the bundle valid for?
The bundle is valid for 12 months from the date of purchase.

Will I need to sign a contract to access this offer?
No. This will be a once-off / ad-hoc purchase which gives you the freedom to purchase economically priced pre-paid data bundles as and when needed. No contract is required.

What makes this offer unique? Why should I purchase it?
This is a pre-paid bundle with no contract. The validity of the bundle is 12 months, which makes it ideal for customers who do not want to be bound to a contract.

What Value Added Services (VAS) will be offered with the bundle?
Subscribers will also qualify for the following VAS services:

• Free email account.
• Send 5 SMSs, get 50 SMSs free to use on that day.
• Free call-out and support service with every purchase of a data modem from 8ta.
• For every 3 minutes of calls received you receive 1 minute free to use the following month.
• To prevent bill shock, 8ta provides users with a ‘safety net’ to check balances and make out-of-bundle purchase decisions in real-time using the redirect functionality.

How do I access the Pre-paid Once-Off Internet 60GB Promo Bundle?
Since this offer is 8ta coverage dependent a store agent will first have to verify that you fall within the coverage area. In line with purchasing any pre-paid service you will then need to perform the RICA process at the outlet. After the RICA process is completed, a new SIM will be issued with the pre-paid per second billing data promo rate activated. You will then be required to load airtime onto your SIM and purchase the Once-Off Internet 60GB Promo Bundle at R 1800 by dialling *180# and following the bundle purchase prompts as outlined below:

• From the Select Bundles Menu, select Data Bundle option.
• Select the 60GB + 60GB Promo R 1800 option.
• Confirm your request.

Will existing pre-paid subscribers have access to the Pre-paid Once-Off Internet 60GB Promo Bundle?
Existing pre-paid subscribers with pre-paid per minute and pre-paid per second SIM cards will have to call the 8ta Call Centre on 081180 or 081183 to convert their current pre-paid rate plan to the pre-paid per second billing data promo rate plan. This will enable pre-paid subscribers with access to purchase the Once-Off Internet 60GB Promo Bundle.

IPad pre-paid users, however, will have to activate a new pre-paid Micro SIM card to have access to the Pre-paid Once-Off Internet 60GB Promo Bundle. This will have to be done at one of the following outlets.

• From the 8ta Account Menu, select Bundle Purchases.
• From the Select Bundles Menu, select Data Bundle option.
• Select the 60GB + 60GB Promo R 1800 option.
• Confirm your request.

What happens to my airtime and / or bundle balances that are active on my existing pre-paid SIM card when I convert to the new pre-paid per second billing data promo rate plan?
All airtime and bundle balances will be retained on the SIM and the services will be limited for use on 8ta’s network. There will be no MTN roaming on voice.

Will I be able to migrate from the pre-paid per second billing data promo rate plan to the standard pre-paid rate plan?
Conversions / migrations from the pre-paid per second billing date promo rate plan to the standard pre-paid rate plan will not be allowed and subscribers will have to purchase a new pre-paid SIM card with the standard rate plan. Subscribers, however, will be able to run an airtime transfer transaction if required.

Will I be able to port in my number to the pre-paid per second billing data promo plan?
No. Ported numbers will not be allowed on the pre-paid per second billing promo plan as a subscriber can only migrate out from this rate plan after the promotion expires. Subscribers will have to purchase a new pre-paid SIM card with the pre-paid per second billing data promo rate plan enabled to benefit from this promotional offer.

Where can I use the Pre-paid Once-Off Internet 60GB Promo Bundle?
The service can only be used where 8ta has 3G coverage.

Can I opt to have the bundle without the 60GB Midnight Surfer Bundle?
No. Neither the 60GB Promo nor the 60GB Midnight Surfer Bundle can be purchased as stand-alone bundles.

Is there a limit to the number of times I can purchase the Pre-paid Once-Off Internet 60GB Promo Bundle in any one month?
No. You may purchase this bundle as many times as you wish within any month.

Will I be able to make voice calls as well?
Yes. Voice will be enabled on the pre-paid per second billing data promo rate plan. However, subscribers will be limited to 8ta’s network. There will be no MTN roaming on voice.

Can an iPad subscriber purchase this offer?
Yes. However, the Pre-paid Once-Off Internet 60GB Promo will need to be provisioned on a new SIM. No conversions will be allowed. iPad pre-paid users will have to activate a new pre-paid Micro SIM card at the following outlets to have access to the promo:

Are Micro-Sims available at the stores?
Yes. Micro SIMs are available at all 8ta Flagship and Telkom Direct stores.

Will iPad subscribers need to register on the iPad portal to redeem airtime and purchase bundles?
No registration on the iPad portal is required. Subscribers will have to insert the Micro SIM into a compatible handset to manage balances and data bundles.

What will happen after the expiry of the Pre-paid Once-Off Internet 60GB Promo?
The Pre-paid Once-Off Internet 60GB Promo will run for a limited period only. Upon expiry of the promotion, users will be migrated to the normal pre-paid per second billing rate plan.

Will I be charged the same rate for out of bundle rates when I’ve used all my in-bundle data?
No. All out-of-bundle data bundles are charged at a rate of R1.00 per MB.

Does the Once-Off Internet 60GB Promo Bundle include a modem?
No. The Once-Off Internet 60GB Promo Bundle does not include a device. Customers have the freedom to utilise their existing compatible modems or buy a compatible modem that suits their needs. The following data modems are available at 8ta stores:

• Huawei E173 (capable of up to 7.2Mbps downlink and up to 5.76 uplink speed) at R 349.00
• Huawei E367 (capable of up to 21.6Mbps downlink and up to 5.76 uplink speed) at R699.00
• Huawei E1820 (capable of up to 21.6Mbps downlink and up to 5.76 uplink speed) at R699.00

To purchase the Once-Off Internet 60GB Promo + 60GB Midnight Surfer Bundle dial *180# from your handset or from the USSD facility on your 8ta Connect Dashboard.

The offer is available at selected Telkom Direct shops and 8ta Flagship stores (please click here for locations of stores http://www.8ta.com/get-it/) and selected Nashua Mobile stores and Altech Autopage stores. These outlets will activate the SIM for immediate access to the new pre-paid data promo rate plan.

No modems will be bundled with this offer and customers will have the freedom to use existing modems or buy a modem that suits their needs. Data modems with speeds of up to 7.2Mbp/s and 21Mbp/s will be available in store. The device speed has an impact on the network speed experienced by the subscriber.

The Pre-paid Once-Off Internet 60GB + 60GB Midnight Surfer Bundle expires at the end of the 12th month from date of purchase.

The 60GB Midnight Surfer Data Bundle can only be used to access the internet between 12 a.m. and 5 a.m.

A compatible device is required to use 8ta services. The maximum speed that can be experienced by the customer is dependent on the speed specification of the device.

The out of bundle rate of R1.00 per megabyte will apply.

8ta is not liable for any loss or damage to your property or equipment arising out of the provision, installation or maintenance and use of the service.

8ta will not incur any liability whatsoever for any loss or damage as a result of any use, authorised or unauthorised, resulting from virus attacks, security vulnerabilities, loss of information.

8.ta mobile services support soft-cell handover.

Normal voice services are limited to 8ta’s network.

SMS is enabled for normal usage, notification and balance enquiry.

Standard once-off internet data bundles will expire at the end of the next calendar month from the date of activation.

The service application process will only commence on the presentation of necessary supportive documentation.
